Hospital based health care workers are unfortunately 3 to 7 times more likely to get infected depending on the study. This is likely a function of exposure frequency to early infected patients and a lack of effective PPE utilization. ICU's do not appear to be a location of rapid spread despite the highest disease burden. Most ICU patients, by the point of needing critical care, are less infectious despite the level of illness.

The simple safety answer for all of us falls back on the basics of hand washing, mask wearing and using appropriate PPE in clinic settings.
