The preponderance of the current data after 8 months of COVID research points squarely to the reality that mask wearing, social distancing, hand washing and self care are the routes to success with the SARS2 pandemic. I have found little to no evidence to support lockdowns or other draconian methods as currently being employed in certain cities. The other side of that coin is not welcomed again and stands to have much and long reaching ramifications if it is.
We all should individually push for a strong self care model coupled with mask wearing and social distancing as best as possible until this next and hopefully last wave passes.
Children should remain in school to learn. Virtual learning remains a complete mess for many if not most. Healthcare providers and other front line workers should continue their brave and tiring work. We should patronize our restaurants and stores as best and safely as possible to preserve jobs. Take out may be the best option right now until things improve. We should absolutely limit large gatherings to prevent a superspreader event. We need to be flexible and smart during this big pandemic wave. Front line healthcare workers are going to tire out soon if this wave continues for too long. I hope that that is not the case.
Above all, do not belittle those with fear and do not be cavalier with a vulnerable person's life. Wear a mask and keep your distance.
Keep reading learning and growing as we all grow stronger facing this pandemic.
